though this was technically still part of our Lexington vacation, this was the day we departed, stopping by the selection of tacky attractions that are centered around Natural Bridge on Virgina Route 11. the threatening, overcast skies added to the sad state of some of the "attractions".
The exhibits at the Natural Bridge Wax Museum and Factory Tour were amusing enough, but sights in the factory portion were far more intriguing.
These are the latex moulds for the heads of the many historical and other figures that have been created in the factory, mostly for use in other location (e.g. Disneyworld).

It was a little creepy down there (it was underground).
This part of the factory tour exhibit showed a "sculptor" at work on a figure's head. The wax model in the lab coat demonstrating the technique was not identified as Democratic presidential candidate Michael Dukakis, but as you can see, it was his likeness they used. I guess he is no longer worthy of a place in the regular museum.
