The Madison Sounds of Deliverance perform on the edge of Dupont Circle. They are one of three "shout bands" affiliated with the United House of Prayer For All People at 601 M St NW, Washington DC, playing "shout band" gospel (and not dixlieland jazz, as I had incorrectly assumed when I first posted these).

For more info on this musical genre, see: http://www.berliozhistoricalbrass.org/pentecostal_shout.htm and http://www.folkways.si.edu/search/AlbumDetails.aspx?ID=2649

Thanks to furcafe for providing me with much of the above information and thanks also to Melanie from the United House of Prayer, who called me to let me know that this was not in fact the Madison Livelystones, as I had originally understood. The Madison Sounds of Deliverance are the church's youth band (ages 16-24) while the Madison Livelystones and the Kings of Harmony are the other two group names.
